If you are like most people, you probably have dreamed what it would be like to win one of these massive lottery jackpots. Recently there was a jackpot that was over $1 billion. That is some serious money!
When most people think what they would do if they won the lottery, they think primarily about what they would buy. What kind of house or houses where they get what kind of cars would they drive. Where would they vacation.
But that’s not why I asked the question. If you were to win the lottery, what would your life work be?
Many people talk about how they would quit their job. How they’d walk into their boss’s office and tell them exactly what they thought about their job and what they thought about them.
Would you keep doing the same things that you do now? How would your mission in life change? Would you even continue to have a mission?
Financial freedom to not need a paycheck has to be one of the most liberating things that one can feel. Truth be told, my mission wouldn’t change much. That kind of money would just give me the ability to have a farther-reaching impact. It would allow me to be able to help those whose passion and mission I believe in.
Why when we think about things like this does it always focus on what we would do for ourselves? Instead why doesn’t it focus on what we could do for others?
Leaders focus on others. They use what they have - time, talent, influence - to further others. It’s like winning the lottery. Except in this lottery everybody wins.
