Damian Rehorn

Damian Rehorn has served the citizens of Fairhope, Alabama for the past 13 years as a police officer. Prior to that time, Damian served 8 years in the United States Army, deploying in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (05-06). He spent 3 years gaining valuable law enforcement experience as a full-time law enforcement officer on Fort Benning, Georgia. He also completed Military Police Special Response Team (SRT) phase 1 training and served as an entry team member for the Fort Benning SRT.  The Army also offered Damian an opportunity to work on a US Army joint Human Trafficking Task Force with the South Korean government.

During his time with the City of Fairhope, he has served as a patrol officer, field training officer, and patrol supervisor. In his most recent position, Damian was tasked with starting a training division within his department, which he currently oversees as the Department Training Coordinator. Additionally, Damian is the Field Training Officer Supervisor and Police Reserve Officer Coordinator.  A Drug Recognition Expert and DRE Instructor, Damian has taught advanced level DUI classes throughout the state of Alabama, in addition to basic DUI detection in the ALEA basic police academy.

Damian takes an active role in the Fairhope Police Department’s community outreach efforts. In addition to his leadership and participation in community programs like Shop with a Cop, Damian has provided training to different types of citizen groups on subjects like, civilian response to active shooter, workplace violence prevention, the Fairhope Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy. In 2018, Damian was asked to speak at the Baton Rouge Bar Association’s DUI seminar held in Fairhope, Alabama.

Damian earned an Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Columbia Southern University, as well as a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of North Alabama. Currently, Damian is also pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree.

Damian is an avid baseball and college football fan. He is married with two teenage children. Damian enjoys reading, particularly books on faith, leadership, and non-fiction biographies.
