Somebody’s Watching You

Somebody’s Watching You

Ah, the 80’s! The best clothes. The best shows. And the best music. Great music!

One of the songs from that period is called “Somebody’s Watching Me” by Rockwell. That song had these lines:

Who’s watching?

Tell me who’s watching

Who’s watching me?

Now some may say that Rockwell is a bit paranoid – and maybe he is. But he may have been just a bit ahead of his time.

With all of the technology available today I would propose it is reasonable for you to assume that someone is always watching you. And that could impact your safety.

First, let’s be clear, I’m not taking about career safety. Although many folks have lost their career because they acted the fool with someone watching them.

I’m talking physical safety. Cameras in doorbells, cameras on houses, cameras on drones. All of these can stream information. And maybe some of those receiving it want to do harm to you.

So what can you do about all the cameras? In most cases, not much. But having an understanding, an acknowledgement that they are there should have impact on how you act.

No shortcuts. No cutting corners. No half effort. Do the right thing. Act as if somebody’s watching you. Because they probably are.
