Sergeant Matt Tout began his Public Safety career 20 plus years ago when he joined the US Army where he served his country with distinction and received multiple commendations and an Honorable discharge. After serving his country, He began serving his community as a Firefighter performing fire rescue operations and serving as a member for the departments Swift Water Rescue Team. He worked through the ranks and was promoted to Lieutenant where he ultimately became responsible for leading and instructing newly hired recruits to perform the job.
In 2005 Matt moved into the Law Enforcement profession where he still continues to serve today. Matt started his career with the Macon, GA Police Department and currently works for the Alpharetta, GA Police Department in the Atlanta Metro-area. He has been assigned to multiple positions including Uniform Patrol, Canine Handler, Field Training Officer, and has spent a vast amount of time in an undercover capacity. He excelled UC world and was involved in over 1,000 undercover operations and has been responsible for the seizure of thousands of pounds of illegal narcotics and millions of dollars. Sergeant Tout currently supervises and leads his agencies department’s Crime Suppression Unit which he started from the ground up. Matt has been awarded Officer of the Year, multiple Life Saving awards and numerous other accolades during his time as an officer.
Matt has the “gift of gab” and loves using this gift in helping others reach their greatest potential. A passionate tactician and a strong believer in never sacrificing officer safety to achieve the mission, Matt leads and mentors’ others to become better officers and integral parts of their community.
